New Hire: Reagan Butcher
Reagan Butcher recently joined USRM as an Environmental Scientist II. Reagan is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in Geography and Environmental Planning, with continued education in Environmental Health Science. She has an extensive background in water quality, hazardous waste management, environmental planning, and technical writing. Her work in the past includes field and laboratory analysis of biological contaminants using source tracking, as well as extensive investigations in the fields and watersheds of Appalachian coal country concerning heavy metals. Having worked with many state and federal agencies on various projects throughout the years, including US Geological Service, US Division of Agriculture, Kentucky Division of Water, various coal companies and several years of training university undergraduates in proper field protocol, Reagan has established herself as flexible and versatile in the environmental field. Awards and recognitions from the National Environmental Health Association and the National Science Foundation, as well as the use of her collected data to support the Kentucky Stream Saver Bill, introduced in the 2008 General Assembly to the House of Representatives, are among her achievements.
